in all of Costa Rica. Its hilltop location also commands exhilarating views of
the Pacific Ocean, and has drawn comparisons to the landscape of 1960s Carmel
and Big Sur California. Its sunrises and sunsets are simply awe-inspiring.
The area traces its history back to middle of the 17th century, when it was
used as a base of operations for the pirate captain Henry Morgan. In the 350
years since, it has developed a delightful collection of small shops, hotels,
spas and restaurants that cater to the diverse needs of its residents and
international tourists.
